Ion Channel Modulation Symposium

Ion Channel Modulation Symposium

Sophion Bioscience’s Ion Channel Modulation Symposium (ICMS) aims to provide a valuable platform to bring together international, leading researchers and scientists from academia, CROs, and the pharmaceutical industry. We want to promote and stimulate discussions, develop collaborations, share the latest advances, and discuss current cutting-edge research focused on the modulation of ion channels as therapeutic targets.

"A conference that is at the top of my list in 30 years of meetings. The blend of expertise and sociability is fantastic. I recommend people go. Ion channels don't know how lucky they are...... "

— Prof. Iain Greenwood, St George's, University of London
ICMS USA - October 2024
ICMS UK - June 2024
ICMS Japan - May 2024
Previous ICMS meetings

ICMS is dedicated to ion channel drug discovery and expanding to more places around the world

From voltage-gated to ligand-gated channels, the meetings cover a broad range of ion channels, present important issues in modulating these targets for drug discovery purposes, and aims to explore new technologies and approaches to the research.

Every year, ICMS brings together a broad range of people from academia, CROs and the pharmaceutical industry and provides over 20 speakers with a relatively limited audience of 120-140 people. It has been fully attended since we introduced the symposium in 2016. The meeting was initiated due to the absence of a high-level ion channel focused drug discovery conference in Europe, but have since then spread to the USA and Japan.

ICMS is just as much a networking event where you can meet with old colleagues and make new friends and collaborators. It is imperative to allocate enough time for socializing, discussing, and enjoying excellent food and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere.
