Submit a poster abstract

Our abstract submission for ICMS® Japan 2026 is now open!

You are invited to submit an abstract of original work for a poster presentation at the upcoming ICMS in Japan. This is a great opportunity to showcase your research, receive real-time feedback, and engage with leading experts and peers in the field during the poster session.

The committee will review all abstracts submitted, and you will be notified at the end of April 2026 if your abstract has been accepted. You do not need to be registered for the conference before abstract submission, but once your abstract has been accepted, the presenting author must register and be present at the meeting.

Submission deadline

Please submit your abstract before April 15, 2026.

Abstract registration will close once the maximum number of submissions has been reached, or by April 15 at the latest.

Poster board size: Portrait 900 x 1890 mm. Recommended poster size max. 841 x 1189 mm (A0).

Best poster award

Each year, the ICMS Scientific Board acknowledges the most outstanding poster presented at a specific ICMS in either Europe, the United States or Japan.

The evaluation criteria for identifying the best poster include:

  1. The background provides an appropriate perspective/context for the subject
  2. Objectives/research questions are clearly stated
  3. Research design/methods/modeling is appropriate and transparent
  4. Data sources and/or sampling procedures are clear and appropriate
  5. Research objectives are met/addressed
  6. Factual information is kept separate from interpretations or implications
  7. The abstract is presented in an unbiased manner
  8. Clarity of presentation

Sophion will invite the award winner to present at the ICMS of their choice (UK, US, or Japan), with accommodation provided and travel expenses covered within specified limits.

 

PLEASE NOTE: The winner MUST be present in the auditorium when the award winner is announced.

Travel grant

ICMS Japan would like to support students in presenting their research and will partially support travel expenses. The support will be provided for the first ten students. The grant amount depends on the laboratory’s location, so please contact us for more details.
